a gift or natural talent, may seem real, but it isn't yes there are people who are more naturally inclined to be more skilled at something or grow quickly in skill. but they also have to work towards having a high skill set, and get even , more roadblocked as soon as they hit their first real hurdle. theres also the fact that some people a more gifted for something but that does come at the cost of not being gifted and most likley the exact opposite of other things. like super strong people who do extreme weightlifting or strong man comps, may be absolute rocks in the water, and wouldn't be able to win against a small child. and super fast swimmers may not be able to handle things like fast running. and sprinters are completly different to marathoners. but though they may be more naturaly gifted for these disciplines, doesn't mean they can't train in those other directions if they wish, but it would come at the cost of their own current specialty depending on how drastic of a change. but thats where art is different, it is a skill that can be learnt, and one that doesn't even need masters or teachers to teach it to learn, pick up a medium, pen, pencil, paint, marker, and put something on paper and you have art. a doodle is art. making emotional and traditonal, or anything specificaly intricate and specific, will need training and learning, but even then, find good refrences, find good rescources, find good teachers, and this can all still be free. watch how others do their work and mimic what they're doing, and creativity that comes with time or working through stuff or having 50 references to make a concept to final work. what art is time = improvement. literally you see it on the page, you aqquire better muscle memory, you aquire confidence, aqquire new ways to show something, new shortcuts. art is about fun, enjoyment, emotion, or just whatever. it is nothing, and everything. make mistakes, learn, test trial, push in ways you see are causing you trouble, or where you want to go towards. its just like learning to read, or do maths, or science, or cooking. it requires intrigue, patience, time, and some level of hard work if you want to get better at it. sit down with it experiment, explore, copy others (obviously don't say its your own, this is to learn how a piece is made and understand theory in action), and like the great artist steal ideas, and make them your own with what only you bring to the table, yourself. if stick figures can convey things, dots, abstract works, then if you can pick up a pen or pencil and put down squigly lines, you too can create art. i get the temptation of ai, when you have an idea and you want to make something you don't yet have the skill to do yet, but use that to push yourself and you may not feel like you acheuved what you want with the end result, but you did acheive soemthing, you gre, you tried to be better at something you see and love. and how is that not worth it. firtly, never compare yourself to anyone, escept yourself, cause thats the way of seeing improvement. (i only compare nowadays when i don't like a work ive done, and think i'm not good enough to sell my work yet, but reakise for my personal tastes and skill, i have bought much worse compared to this from another artist and i loved ist, i would absolutly buy again and even put on my journals front cover, so why am i being so harsh on myself) back when i did use to compare my work to others, the people i thought had such basic skills, like levels of wash the brush after every paint colour level and nothing more. the one thing i noticed with them, is they seemed to have so much fun and love for art, than any of us who were much more skilled, that could feel confident entering into competetions, with other skilled artists, it was those who had the only the skill of young children, who absolutley had love for the thing we said we loved with wo much passion, but our souls werent filled. youre scared to make art because it won't be good, so what, you get the most amazing thing from art, and thats true enjoyment and peace, because you arent trying to compete with anyone who may be better than you or people notice kittke errors, cause you have a whole world of learning, and right now you can just splotch paint and lines where ever you want
