Disruptions appear to be in full swing. Add Miami currently and Seattle next where Waymo driverless Jaguars are whipping people around town with ease. Visiting LA recently and down the block comes a mini robot food cart whipping down the sidewalk taking somebody’s lunch or dinner several blocks away. Some of these things I think are great. But as usual there will be cons. In the late 1900’s stage coaches or horses/mules/donkeys were the primary mode of traveling long distance. Enter the cars and the stage coach man cried out. But who would go back? The telephone booth was all the rave up until a few decades ago. To call international would require multiple waves of phone agents to transfer you to your final connection. They all got replaced since we all dial in voice or video globally and instantaneously. I see where all aspects of automation can be used for our greater good. We all know it can be used for bad also but my fundamental question would be, ‘ how would the wealthy and powerful get wealthier if every working person is replaced by AI or robots?? ‘ If 1,000 moguls controlled all industries without the need for manpower how exactly will their wealth increase in the absence of the consumers? For those with the sexy idea of global deletion that may be a dream plan for you/them but if accumulation is the end goal what will their wealth increase come from in the absence of the masses?? Tell me/us like two year olds - well 10 year olds!😅
