This reminds me of the late 90s. When people thought internet switch gear was in a multi-decade unquenchable boom. Cisco was buying other companies seemingly one per month. They were right that the internet was super important. But the hype and over-investment was enormous. I think we are almost certainly seeing the same thing. AI (LLMs and such) are undoubtedly super important. But there will be a MAJOR pullback in investment and rollback. Half these data centers will not be built.
