All of us learn from other artists without asking them. They're just doing it with the machine. I don't see the difference. I think people give too much credit to human beings. Most human beings are trash cans anyway. Artists are also wildly pretentious people. As someone who literally makes most of my money from my subscriptions as an artist, the number one thing I hate is other artists. They are wildly annoying, arrogant, overly emotional, and above all else, pretentious as shit. They think that because we picked up the pencil, we can somehow gatekeep how art is made? AI just keeps getting better and better, unfortunately for us. But it doesn't change the fact. For a very long time, we said this about every single thing that lowered the entry to art. When art first went digital, they said the same thing. When cameras were first made, and people started making images that others were calling art, they said that wasn't the same. Then when they started using those same cameras to create movies, they said that movies were not art. And let's even go a step further within movies where we don't take away from that being art anymore either. We're more than willing to say Quentin Tarantino is an artist, or Martin Scorsese is an artist, or Christopher Nolan is an artist, when they don't even touch the camera themselves anymore. Just like how AI will be directed by natural language and prompts, we as artists are gatekeeping if we think that eventually some kids won't come along that don't have the means or access or time to learn how to draw but can create meaningful images from AI because all of the processing is done on a cloud somewhere. They might have access to a little garbage Android phone and they might be going through it, and that might be the only way they can make something cool. That alone is art in itself.
