I’ve been on the internet since it was invented. People were writing fanfic and novels on forums and websites and could always find someone with time to kill to read it. That has never been a problem, and it was always free. Companies act like the internet before AI didn’t exist or wasn’t helpful. I would say the internet is worse because it’s full of bots.
