I have definitey seen AI help me code better. But on general reasoning outside of the computer world it has constantly remained no more clever than asking the most misguided (populist media consuming) individual in the office for a solution to the problem under discussion.
I'm not sure fear is our friend generally, and fear of AI is exactly equal , in my estimation, to fear of work colleagues. Yes they may force something short sighted and deeply flawed through to the forefront, but some of us will offer up a robust challenge that makes perfect sense and over rules the risk through indisputable reasoning. We're only 2% of the population, admittedly, but we've protected everybody else so far & I'm not yet convinced the odds have changed.
