One of the challenges I have watching these expert predictions about the dangers of AI is that the default assumption is that we have unlimited resources (i.e materials, energy etc) and investment to build most advanced AI and robots in a matter of next few years. The reality is more nuanced and no matter how advanced this technology could be, there is still an element of ROI for all of these grand ideas to come to fruition. To me this seems more like part truth and part sensationalism.
