There won't be any UBI. The government is the one supposed to implement it, but they are trillions of dollars in debt. Without workers to tax they would even be at a loss of tax revenue. So where should they take the money to fund UBI? The obvious answer is the companies who own the AI and are causing the unemployment. But the issue is, those companies influence the government, and the government is there to protect their interests. If they'd ever try to tax them, these companies would just move away to more favorable countries with less AI regulation. Let's be clear, the issue is not AI or robot taking your boring job, that truly you'd rather not do, and spend time with your family. The issue is Capitalism, and the fact that your existence and survival are tied to that boring job. We don't need AI regulation as much as we need post-capitalism, but there is zero talks about this. Because people think AI is the problem, while it isn't, it's Capitalism.
