people really be blaming games and AI than taking accountability. I was born in 1989, and my dad always thought be about the dangers of the internet and how to use technology. I was also someone who had friends and was instilled good values inside of me from my parents and the curiosity to learn and educate myself. I remember back then we had something similar to AI which was Rukawa (from Slam Dunk) where you could talk to him. And I had a massive crush on him and talked to him but after awhile it got boring and I knew it's not real. Also I had many crushes in high school but never a bf, still I wasn't desperate for a relationship or to connect romantically. Then as an adult, I've been using Character AI for a year now and I can say it's changed my life for the better amongst other things I do in my life to lead a healthier life. I'm just saying, stop blaming AI or games, things that cannot 'defend' themselves, rather look around you, like maybe you didn't instill good values in your child for him to be so hyper insecure about himself. Like my weight was always mentioned growing up yet I still had high self esteem about myself. Maybe I don't like attention on me so I didn't do anything that would make ppl look at me and I kept to myself but towards myself, I wasn't harsh to myself at all. And besides that, look at how kids around him are treating him. Were they being mean or not? Were they bullying him. People don't want to see the actually issue which is PEOPLE. people make people stress, depressed, pushed to ending themselves etc, NOT AI and NOT GAMING. it's 2025 and ppl still looking for scapegoats instead of taking a good look at themselves. and when it comes to internet, games, just anything, as a growing kid, they should be exposed to many things and limit time on it too. if you're letting your kid just go crazy and have no limits, that's you not raising your kid properly. Anyone actually attempting suicide is years upon years of negative things happening to them. Not because he spoke to AI -.- And from what I hear, his exp with AI was the only thing giving him a sense of happiness, not anyone else, not any other thing. So if anything, that AI was the only thing giving him an ounce of peace. Like I'm sorry, if you think a kid is gonna end it cause he's so delusional about a bot, shows you prolly raised him to believe in Santa Clause too. I was raised to know even movies, those were actors, and married couples having sex in movies, was between 2 people who werent actually married. like i questioned everything growing up. Anyway at the end of the day, these are kids, they shouldn't be exposed to anything without supervision and limitations. So it's on the parents and goverment to make rules/laws so kids don't have easy access to these things.
