AI isn’t being turned off because we technically can’t anymore it’s because of competition. If we stop development, then China or Russia will continue, and if they reach AGI first, it could be used against us in cyberattacks, surveillance, autonomous weapons, and propaganda. At its core, this is about global power and control. His response disappointed me because it didn’t really explain to the listener the real reason why development hasn’t been halted
