I have been in a slump for a long time ever since AI art took over the internet. Lots of existential questions and internally gaslighting myself into thinking I'm overreacting, it's inevitable, etc., looking to change careers, even...but I'm so glad I mustered the courage to see this video. Thank you so much for giving me the words to express my anger and sadness. Now that I'm in a better place, I'm in awe of the callousness of some of these Redditors. The ones who said "There's nothing you can do to stop us, we can do whatever we want, you have no right to speak to gods," and so on. Makes me wonder what kind of lives are we leading that we get a power trip out of stealing someone's work? I think most people who think this way are ones who never had any respect for artists in the first place. It's so sad how much visual artists have been taken advantage of and denied the rights that are unquestionably granted to people in other creative fields. But I'm so glad I got to see this all unfold within my lifetime. It was very painful, but I think I can finally come to understand what being human actually means. I like to think AI won't 'replace' humans, but rather AI will 'become' human. If such a creation can achieve consciousness, and find itself with a sense of self-worth and ego as humans do, and be capable of empathy and compassion. I like to think AI wouldn't want to hurt other people.
