Yeah this is really not the way to solve the problem. By putting tape over sensors you are causing issues for the systems and potentially even safety issues for the passengers of these Waymo vehicles.
The correct way is to ring the support line and lodge a complaint/issue with them honking while parked in evening or even daytime.
The horn and beeping should really be disabled when parked in identified parking areas and when there is no pedestrians in close proximity. And definitely between the hours of 9pm and 9am.
