The idea of AI being a tutor sounds great but wasn't google search etc promoted as a research tool to improve learning in schools before its adoption? To my horror, google search was confined to image search in low income schools, where I saw teachers who did not know how to use a computer themselves, confine their students to low level games and image searches!!! If AI makes this type of teaching obsolete, maybe low income students in low performing schools will finally have a leg up, but before then you need AI to be regulated!!!
