We are extremely far away. Artificial Neural Networks are so tiny in complexity comparing to human brain.
~10 bln neurons, each has 1000 connections, each synapse has many different chemicals, ways to connect, all the combinations of them. Spikes are traveling also up the neuron, changing the synapses.
That's just brain.
