I don’t understand—Citigroup fired 20,000 people in the U.S., citing all sorts of reasons, yet they’re busy leasing 830,000 sq ft (~77,000 m²) in Pune, India, in a deal worth around $1.3 billion just for office lease and funny part is they are American bank having not a single atm in india. Clearly, this isn’t about talent—it’s about cost-cutting and profits, while young Americans struggle to find jobs. Wonder what their explanation for this “strategic move” is… I guess AI works better in India but than again why they need a 10 floor building😏....truth it's all BS it's all about cheap labour and increased profit margin.
