Think further ahead. These tech giants are all progressing towards AGI, then Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), and they want to be the first to do so. Nobody knows where the human race sits if/when that level of AI is reached. We will no longer be the dominant intelligent species on this planet, that's for sure.
