To determine if AI is a success or failure, please do not ask only the companies, ask the consumers also, who are bearing the brunt of it. In India, where I live, most companies (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) have hidden their customer service staff/departments behind some lousy AI and we the users are paying the price. Not only do we get shitty goods and services, we cannot even vent our grievances to the sellers, as we get trapped in their AI-run customer service functions, which offer very limited options. To us, dealing with AI is worse than banging our heads against a concrete wall - and more painful.
