Was rather hyped when I first heard of the new self driving cars (think back in 2018 or something?), then the issues started popping up, like cars auto panic breaking on highways at 80mph because it flagged the moon as a yellow light, constantly, and then the fact it required you still focus heavily on the road, and manually override any input while the car is self driving, if required. Think the next major bit that got me back into self driving cars was a video showing the capabilities of some self driving car using a depth sensor of sorts instead of basic cameras, and it about destroyed the Tesla in terms of safe auto breaking (video tested the roadrunner trap where the main competitor detected only a wall, and hit the break, while Tesla just rammed through it, seeing an open road). Was already worried when I saw there were going to be fully self driving uber like cars... def not ready for that, and needs far better than regular cameras.
