It's not that AI is smart it's that Humans are DUMB. Us humans make the AI we can just as easily pull the kill switch on it. Not to mention the fact if they're thinking all this then is was obviously thought by us first considering we're the ones that are actively talking about them ending the world but then give them HUMAN brain cells to learn... Ever heard of the Bible? Making AI as sentient beings is playing God which by the way is a SIN. It's also quite literally the reason Frankenstein has been named the scariest book of all time
