We're about to live in the third AI winter. Everytime, the market overhypes the technology and promises to fully replace developers and labor in general. In the 90s we also had the hype of low code/no code technologies, which promised to totally replace developers.
Software engineering will only be replaceable when we reach AGI. But at that point, literally no job would be safe.
