As a full disclaimer, I am not a visual artist but I am a writer so I'm also affected by this stolen IP movement and the influx of AI "art" into my creative sphere. I have never heard the "AI is more accessible for people with disabilities" argument before and honestly, it sickens me. It's looking down on people with disabilities and infantalizing them. The part that makes me so mad is they're clearly using it as a catch all when most of the time, specific technology already exists to help with each specific disability. For example, I have carpel tunnel and sometimes I have flare ups where it hurts to type. What do I do? Use dictation software that is specifically designed for this purpose. I also have a weird version of dyslexia that affects my ability to read serif fonts (think Times New Roman) and I can only comfortably read sans serif fonts (Arial, Helvetica, etc). What do I do if I find a book I want to read and it's printed in a font I can't read? I buy the ebook where I can change the font in the ereader, or I buy the audiobook instead. To think AI is a catch all solution when there are many far better, specific tools for very specific disabilities means you didn't actually spend the time to understand the needs of people with disabilities. There is no easy cure for disabilities, and acting like AI is a magic fix it tool is incredibly demeaning. Also, just because AI *can* do something doesn't mean it's the best at it. I also line edit novels and I can provide many specific instances when I was a more accurate grammatical reference than an AI language tool (just like your point about referencing real images instead of AI generated ones). AI can catch standard errors but it's rubbish at weird fringe cases.
