This doesn’t do anything. You’re years too late and will always be behind the curve against this technology—artists who think this does anything are uneducated. The newer generative models don’t even function the same as the ones this type of ‘poisoning’ affects. Meaning you’re only affecting newer models built on old technology, which doesn’t even factor in that you can train another AI to find these images and filter them out. It’s not a war you can win or will ever win as an artist. Sadly you have to focus on your own skill set and love of the process and hope other artists and people will as well. It’s not going to last just like how digital painting invalidated accessible professional physical painting being a truly approachable and viable way of living and making money. These AI tools are going to do what digital painting did to physical. It’s gonna make it a more hobby heavy avenue than a lifestyle one. 3D programs have shown this to basically have the same end result: You gotta make unique things and unique art to stand out and actually achieve a viable income without worry. If you’re generic and uninteresting (like most AI art) no one cares or don’t care enough to fund / commission you. Artists have to adapt because younger artists will use these tools to surpass you and better artists already abuse AI tools to their own advantage. Hate it all you want but tools will be tools, refusing to use them just creates a bigger hurdle for yourself. FWIW AI stealing art is immoral and unethical but sadly just fast tracking data sets. Even if it was purely illegal these tools would just develop a little slower using legal methods. And seeing how newer tech doesn’t even function by taking art in the same way, and instead analyzes it like a human would… It’s a scary future for freelance artists who want to remain fully AI-less in their workflows.
