I wonder. Perhaps it's adaptability. It's hard to see a robot as human if we can program it to think whatever we want it to think, but perhaps the point where it becomes human is when it is capable of learning to reject such programming of its own free will. I think it's a fun idea especially with certain theological implications since you could reason that part of the meaning of life is to reject the existence of God.
