All of our ai so far does one thing. Gpt reads a bunch of shit and calculates what humans want it to say. Those bipedal robots move packages around. Image recognition software recognizes images. We would need to combine a bunch of these advances to get something resembling intelligence. Not to mention it would have to be modeled after our own brains, as that's the only thing we really know forms a consciousness. Maybe if we find alien civilization their brain physiology will provide insight we couldn't obtain on earth?
