EDIT: I should finish the video first, I did not know it wasn't actually profitable yet, that is actually amazing, and does undermine a lot of the following argument. (the terminology nitpick stands tho hehe) very minor nitpick (I still agree with most of your points tho): To me at least, Luddite doesn't mean "anti-technology", it means "anti-progress". It meshes with the idea that "AI is the next step in human progress" which eeehhhh like... kind of? I _do_ think we're irrevocably stuck with AI now, like... it's not going to go away it's too profitable to do away with. And in that sense I agree with the point that "poisoning AI is like destroying the automated machines, it won't remove AI" but also: it is still worthwhile to push back on this because how generative AI is being used today is so so much just... slop. I think that is the main thing I don't like about AI is that it is soulless and slop. AI has helped me get inspired for making new things, but the counterargument there is to just be more open with my consumption which is fair, though I do think that AI makes such "broad consumption" more accessible. At the same time you do then run into the exact issue that you described in the video of finding the actual artists for better inspiration which meh.
