Remarks by Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and Instagram, about the future of software development and programming. Most likely, in 2025, Meta and other companies will be using an AI that can effectively play the role of a software engineer. This AI will even be able to write code (programming) independently, based only on textual descriptions. At first, implementing this idea will be costly, but in the future, instead of human engineers, it will be these AI engineers and robots who generate and deploy program and application code much faster and with greater accuracy. Recently, Google has developed an advanced and highly intelligent tool called AlphaCode 2, which it has not yet released. The company claims this powerful tool can solve the most complex problems in technology and programming—even tasks from computer olympiads and advanced algorithms—in the best and most optimized way possible. With an error margin of about 5%, it can dynamically and automatically write programs using only textual inputs and descriptions. It can even select the most optimal solution out of millions of possible answers in a fraction of a second. In my opinion, this approach is far better. Instead of an employer hiring a 40-person team, in the future, they may no longer need more than about 10 people, with the human workforce acting mainly as operators. Accuracy will increase, human errors will decrease, and costs will be significantly reduced. Insurance expenses will drop. AI models will continuously learn, update, and become more intelligent. Working hours will shrink. Developed countries are no longer pursuing outdated technologies such as website design, banking apps, and similar fields. They are moving toward quantum computing, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things, cryptography, advanced mathematics, and fundamental sciences. And countries that fall behind in these areas will be considered part of the third world.
