We're heading towards a situation where only entrepreneurial people will be rewarded, but this is not how society in general works. Many people lack the ability to do that, they are great soldier and worker ants but not decision-makers and hustlers. Do the math. The population is growing rapidly, the number of human jobs is shrinking rapidly. Whatever replacement jobs we get coming out of this crisis will not be enough to fill not the gap but the void. Any cases from a 100 years ago can't be applied to a situation where it takes a couple of years to go from conception to full-on market implementation of any revolutionary technology. I started working in my university 3 years ago. AI was a gimmick. A year later we had to implement measures to counteract the overuse of AI by students. You do the math.
