To me the biggest issue, I have isn't really the usage of chatgpt or not knowing things. Not knowing things just means there you know there are things that you can learn and move forwards towards a path many people have traversed. Using chatgpt is okay, IF and I mean IF, you are using it as a tool to develop yourself instead of doing your work. The Biggest issue is the lying, more specifically the need to lie. And I don't think he is lying because we wants to, but because he needs to. In a way I feel that a lot of job seekers in todays market feel like they need to lie to get a job, cuz the rest are (lying || i'm not confident in my knowledge). I have worked in 3 different IT jobs developing Laravel. In all 3, I did a great and hard dificulty to remind myself that it is okay to not know things. When someone asked for instance "Do you know what a singleton is?" (On my 2nd job interview) I said "In the context of Laravel, I don't know how to properly apply the Singleton Pattern", this shows that I know Singleton pattern is a Design pattern but I just never applied it to Laravel. On the same interview when asked "So you know what a Service Provider is?" I straight up said nope. I got the answer from the interview and told them "okay I have a few projects where I can use something like that". Also in interviews usually there are more people other than just the tech guy that doing the questions. There are people who are looking at how you are dealing with the questions and analysing you reactions when confronted. Overall don't lie. It will bite back at you.
