I convinced some people in my life to draw more, instead of generate stuff with AI. The result is not technically better right away, specifically from a pure mechanical point. It is theirs, it is real. The first steps in getting better. I think this is the argument that did it: Every time someone uses AI-gen like this they take an opportunity away from themselves. Its a creative debt that needs to be paid in full. Unfortunately, becoming intentional in your detail is a skill, if you don't have it, you don't notice it is missing. Someone may think a prompt is detail (intent), but an artist creates from nothing, every stroke is intent. Put an artist in an empty room and they will find away to make something, somehow, from nothing. An artist can never be nothing without a tool. They are cursed with intent, and cannot help creating things. AI-gen can help artists texture 3D models, clean up topography, vectorize, you know the tedious stuff... Eventually even big "creative" companies using AI in their flow - for work that should be intentional - will fail. Intent is also what makes any product good. People might not notice it missing in a single piece, but they will when its missing in an entire product.
