Erg the boycott groups gonna get scammed so hard by virtue signaling people just looking to prey upon their feelings. And should they not get financially scammed they will be putting the fates of countless artists with a burning desire to learn these tools at a major disadvantage. Amd worse putting our fates in the hands of people who've proven they can't ever be trusted with such responsibilities. If the tech ends up only being available to huge corporations it will still be getting used and still be cutting out the more popular artists. It needs to be as freely available to the common man as possible, creating healthy competition among those tech companies to provide the best most affordable product. It's a unique tool that gives those with little to no art skills or even physically disabled people the chance to express themselves with art that they had no capacity for before it's existence. And it's all the more stronger in the hands of a professionally trained artist. There will always be leaches looking to make a quick buck, but their options will dry up as people learm who the bad faith actors are the skill ceiling for the tech continues to rise. I've been fighting to get these systems to better match my distinct art style so I can integrate it into my work flow and hopefully speed up certain processes that typically slow me down and hold me back from releasing a finished story. Using the AI I've found my creations are also now more tuned to push those aspects that the AI struggles to do, giving my works a more dynamic edge. As well as helping to develop new ideas and concepts I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Story telling will be the metric that seperates the amateurs from the professionals. Currently the tech can pump out lots of pretty figures in drab poses in interesting landscapes. People need to find more unique ways to tell stories with those figures, be it a single image or a sequence, comic or movie. From what I've observed those with the least honed skills as artists are screaming the loudest about being threatened by the tech. When they should be using it to improve upon their skill sets and become more marketable in such environments. Instead of riding the tsunami they are going to be buried it.
