I work as a data engineer for a bank, and although my eyes are wide open to the risk of job loss to AI.... one thing that keeps me somewhat optimistic is that because everything is so highly regulated, there's no way they could possibly off-hand code repos or new requirements for applications etc to machines because if something went wrong the lines of traceability are completely eroded.
As I say though, this isn't bulletproof.
