Few things are better than seeing layoffs backfire.
AI as an "employee" is like having an employee that, while true they can work 24/7 and very quickly, they are also very sloppy and lazy. AI is also getting to a point where it's "eating it's own filth" as I've heard. It's using AI generated data to make new decisions and so the same flaw just gets perpetuated over and over and over again. Depending on the workload, an issue could spread before it is noticed and require a HUGE amount of clean up. AI is best used as a simple tool, not a replacement for a whole person. Otherwise, it is just defecating slop, eating it and defecating it all over again.
