best case is we are the dog. we are the cat. In 2045 AI goes out into space and goes "to work" - We have absolutely no idea where it is or whats going on. But it supplies our food and some degree of affection. Occasionally takes us out for a "Car Ride" and we stare out the window dazzled. We detest our "trips to the vet" - but we have no real choice.
Thats probaly best case.
