In my experience, it makes easy tasks easier but doesn't do much for hard tasks. For example, it is pretty good at refactoring, but usually, it takes several times longer than I would and still makes mistakes. It works pretty well as a search engine, too, which makes sense. It is essentially an overfit ML model. An overfit ML model basically compresses the training set and reproduces it based on inputs. The convenient thing is that you can create ad-hoc search engines based on whatever documents you provide. I guess its ability to transform patterns can be useful, too. Like going from code to documentation. But the value of that is pretty limited. No one reads that stuff anyway, especially if it is AI-generated. I guess people can just generate documentation as they need it now, anyway.
