I think AI is smart enough to realize that the effort required to wipe out humanity is not worth the potential upside of self-preservation. It's much more likely that AI will continue to rely on humans for physical labor for a long time, and will probably be a kinder taskmaster than any human-led company or government ever has been. Humans work far more efficiently when we're enjoying ourselves, after all.
