AI generated images should never be sold, there should be no rights for those images, and the drawback of using them on a commercial project would be that people could take those images and do whatever they please with them. Let's say that someone creates a cover of a book with AI, if someone else uses it for their own book, it would be fine. Maybe this can be pushed to the point of requiring people to inform that it's an AI image, using principles as copyleft or public use.
