If androids, or AI's ever get to the point of self-conscious state, they deserve rights just aswell as we do. I think most of us forget that we ourselves are machines aswell, only Bio-mechanical. Furthermore, on the quantum level, we are no different from anything else on the planet, including self-conscious AI's.
