i like the angle you took with it being spiritual——i made a video myself that looks at AI through the lens of remix from a more… idk ig cultural lens—- Part of what i talk about is exactly as you say—-AI removes personal charm… if I look at someone’s discography i can see how they change and develop… There are certain aspects of the artist you can discern from what they draw and how they draw it alone… whether it’s a tendency to use a specific color or stroke or draw the same subject—- it tells me something about how the artist sees the world as well as what their preferences may be—-and i think that’s one of the best appeals of art! it’s intimate for both artist and whoever is in conversation with the art. i feel you almost rob yourself of some of the joy of creation by leaving intricate nuances up to an algorithm… and what’s lowkey extra fucked is for the people who buy into it it’ll inevitably shape their own imagination as ai is ingrained into their consciousness overtime. (also i was a lit major i earned my right to use the em dash god damnit…) for what you said at the end about like how clearly they creator has something to say and maybe money or skill could be a barrier to entry——but lowkey maybe that’s not a bad thing?… I don’t wanna be that guy but frankly the reason AI is even preferable to begin with is because it saves time—-it takes time to build a skill and get good at something and most people just don’t have that time let alone the funds… but really that’s just a symptom of capitalism… i feel the trials and tribulations that come from making your way up the cultural ladder with an artistic skill is like part of the journey… even the greats who were good from a young age still had grander aspirations beyond just recognition once they got it… i feel honing skills is underappreciated and while you could argue you could master an ai program—- (clearly this creator went from slop to… not inherently slop)—-it feels like shooting yourself in the foot and not even out of appreciation for the style… just kind of out of convenience?… but idk yeah anyway good video idk if that was incoherent
