I've always described AI art as one of those ships that trawl the ocean with enormous nets, just taking everything with absolutely no care to what is taken and the damage caused. I think it can be a tool to be used, and it's not going away so I'll accept that, but it all needs consent. Artists can work with it, we just don't want to be exploited by it. If it's a public image, and the artist/photographer/whatever has chosen it to be public, then fine. If artists knew that putting up their work would end up like this, I think different choices would have been made. A lot of creative industries are being threatened, but the foundation of these industries are the artists themselves, and it just makes me think of Ouroboros.
Also, those are trolls on a pathetic power trip. They'll whinge and cry the most when AI comes after their industries.
