This has already been happening in new housing construction as well. Inflation has made it not very profitable to construct small starter homes, so more and more builders are building larger homes for the upper middle class and above.
The only real solution to the AI/robotics boom will be to fix the broken education system and teach people how to find purpose and meaning in their lives so that they can find meaningful ways to contribute to society. Instead of wanting to, say, design video games.
