The real danger is the fact that development of AI will be in the hands of these self styled gatekeepers of the truth, who conclude that the depiction of white men as scientists and lawyers is supposedly problematic, regardless of whatever the stats on the subject might indicate.
They'll have a free reign to impose their world view on millions of unsuspecting users. Far from eliminating bias, they will end up perpetuating their own perceptions of the truth.
As what hapoened with the media, fact based objectivity will be sacrificed in favour of subjective and highly malleable 'values' that are controlled by these gatekeepers and suitably modified as and when the need arises.
