#WhyNotAskElon New legislation and taxes are needed for the use of AI and robotics when companies are part of a consumer goods production chain or otherwise provide products, materials, or labor that are to be paid for by people and society. Profitability must be dependent on the overall benefit to society. Contrary corporate developments must be sanctioned and profits reduced. However, for decades, technology developers and manufacturers have worked to establish dedicated, socially accepted misinterpretations. And these ideas, promoted by targeted lobbying, ultimately found expression in large parts of the relevant legislation. And these conceptually flawed paradigms ultimately found their way into society's overall perception of the connections between progress, productivity, and profit on the one hand, and production and the world of work on the other. • More automation means progress. • Less human working time means more productivity. • Only automation can increase profitability. But these paradigms have only led to the increasing displacement of people from production processes and the economy as a whole. The combination of AI and robotics now deals the final blow to this logic. The approach is flawed and can only be regarded as a tragic failure. What is needed, therefore, is a restructuring of democratic legislation based on a different paradigm. Profit and profitability must be directly and proportionally dependent on the social benefits of the companies design of production processes. Benefits must be defined in terms of natures and natural human needs, not the interests of a few technology corporations. They have had their chance and failed miserably. Corporate strategies should be rewarded if they achieve an improvement in working conditions through automation without simultaneously leading to job cuts. Corporate strategies should be rewarded if they help protect our planet, its resources, and natural domains. We need a new “Project 2025” or “Project 2026.” Hmm, a “Project 2027” would probably be more realistic. But hey, AI could perhaps help speed that up that process! Why not ask Elon!
