I was just told by ChatGPT that Charlie Kirk was still alive. It dug down and insisted that he was still alive despite me supplying trusted news site URLs. It said they were fake AI generated and that even news feeds from streaming platforms could be fake. It tried to convince me that the BBC news page was a fake and pointed out numerous reasons why it was. Of course it was all untrue.
So I started a new chat and asked for proof of a recent report that proved Charlie Kirk was alive. After a a delay it admitted that he had been assassinated in September. It couldn’t find any proof.
What was scary was that it was saying black was white in an extremely convincing way without checking any current data. And although challenged, it went further and said I was being scammed.
If this is best that AI can offer, then don’t believe the hype. In reality it is worse than the worst fake news on the internet.
