Roman is a smart scholar, but he has no clue about the real world. In Silicon Valley, they contemptuously call it the world "beyond the screen." They have never been in the large hospital or emergency rooms. They have never been on the construction site of the large building or major infrastructure projects like nuclear station or major bridge. They have never been in a large manufacturing facility or a shipyard. They have no clue what they are talking about when they say that in 5 years, AGI will replace 99% of a workforce. Maybe in an IT, accounting, legal field... the white colar jobs. He talks about handyman plumber and Uber drivers, and that's where his knowledge of the real world stops. Yes, probably 99% of the drivers will be gone, too, with the white-collar industries. Not in 5 years but in 10-15 years. His talk about humanoid robots replacing people on large construction/infrastructure projects is an infantile rant. There's no need to take it seriously. These jobs and industries are safe for the next 50 years. Easily. So if you are a lawyer I highly recommend you to become a skillful construction worker. 😅
