AI used to create low-effort rip-offs in the style of a specific person pose a real problem ... There is a legal void about this right now that needs to be fixed ASAP. And i'm saying this a "tech-bro" as people would call me ... But it's a shame that the artist community as a whole is throwing everything AI-related and shunning anyone in the community that touches it with a 10-foot pole. There is a clear lack of nuance here ... If people learn to use it, it could be used to ENHANCE creativity rather than killing it. Imagine an artist that instead of stealing from people, train an AI to work as their super-assistant, essentially stealing from THEMSELVES, to increase tenfold the amount of artwork they can draw. Not using AI to generate entire images for them, but as a productivity tool to streamline SOME of the more time-consuming processes, teaching the AI their own methods with a multi-step AI workflow, overseeing every step. A bit like how mangakas hire assistants to help them get out their final product in time. This would open up so many possibilities. We could have solo artists producing entire animated shows straight from their imagination, with each frame as beautiful as their single-image concept art, something that's impossible today without huge fundings. Writing comic books would be a lot more accessible for people who usually draw way too slowly to make it viable. We could have artists putting to life their world as a video game ALONE. All of this is already possible with the current tech. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, because of the reputation risk that would cause within their community. And that's a shame imo. I would love to see some very talented artists whipping out some even more amazing art pieces thanks to AI assistance, instead of some wannabe "AI-artists" who prompt their model until they get a result that's passable.
