The big problem is while the AI companies might be about building a new technology, the CEOs are only imagining a world with drastically low or zero labor costs. Yet they still expect everyone who has been made "obsolete" to go out and find a job to make an income to eat and have a place to live.
I've yet to see ANY of them truly address this concern. They'll claim there will be "jobs of the future", but does not touch on if there will be enough of these jobs to help the mass of unemployed workers. They just seem evasive because in my book they know of the damage they will do, but keep hoping somehow they'll end up as the "winner" in all this.
