I fully agree with you, I'm software developer and a "cloud engineer" and only thing that AI did is speed up my work I don't see it replacing me any time soon. You have to understand the structure of code, server setup and where to actually do the changes. And I don't even want to start about code optimization and the times where AI hallucinates or just randomly tries to deletes key lines of code (via Copilot Edit or Cursor agent/edit). A lot of the time it also just writes sluggish and illogical code, especially for game development. I stopped counting the amount of times it caused stack overflow.
