Production of a text (e-mail, meeting transscribtion etc) produse fraction of emission and energy consumption compared to when human does it, same for pictures and basically everything AI does. And its not a small margin, its order of magnitude, in some cases (digital art using a decent PC) it can be as much as 100times less emissions on an image. Training is expensive, but thats 1 time process for a model. You take a graph that compares ALL of AI training to... a single human, single everything. But AI doesnt have to be completelly trained everytime its used... If you would be fair, compare it to all humans, all air transportation, all cars. Your arguments that AI is used for X or Y... Axes and screwdrivers are used to kill people. Does that mean axe or screwdriver are in any way problematic? I think your idea that redrawing AI generated image is somehow bad - exactly opposite. Generative AI is a tool. Redrawing and fixing AI only inspires more people into doing art and learning to draw. First by fixing the AI results, then they will get to the point where trying different prompts to get at least somehow usable baseline is will become more tedious than creating own baseline. Also. Nightshade/Glaze is the same stuff as StableDiffusion or Dall-E. its nothing else than just a Generative AI model for image generation, with less freedom different parameters and different goal. It fits into the same environmental bucket of 'training AI'... Its essentially 'making AI image'
