There should be two forms of currency: necessity currency and luxury currency. Necessity would be a UBI provided by the government, which provides the basics for life to persist: food, water, shelter, and medical care. Luxury would be currency provided by the private sector, and by working a job. That can provide for everything else, or upgraded versions of things you can get with necessity cash. Wouldnt be perfect, would need nuances ironed out, but this would at least remove the necessity to work from the survival equation. And, ya, big companies would still employ mostly ai to run things, making working for someone else rare. BUT it would incentivise everyone to freelance, everyone to own their own business, create things they wanna see in the world. Much like youtube, twitch, or games on steam, it decentralizes a lot of the creation and allows for more variety and creativity.
