"leading researchers predicted" Which researchers? Ones paid by AI companies? Because I didn't here any legitimate professionals in the field talk about Ai replacing programmers. In fact the signs were pretty clear a few years ago that companies trying to replace programmers with AI were just hurting themselves in the long run. Hyper capitalist companies milking short term quarterly gains at the expense of long term sustainability is nothing new.
